Admission and choosing a major happen at different stages
UT Admissions says McCombs offers freshman entry in summer or fall and transfer entry in fall. Applicants apply as unspecified business; enrolled McCombs students select a specific undergraduate major. Do not read a Finance or MIS course plan as a separate freshman application route.
A current UT student seeking McCombs uses the internal-transfer process. A student entering from another college uses external-transfer instructions. Those populations have different requirements, so an internal-transfer GPA or freshman admit figure does not answer the other route’s question.

Business Analytics: read the plan year before copying the course list
The BBA Business Analytics department page is an undergraduate source, distinct from the graduate MS Business Analytics and AI program. Its overview still lists a 15-hour block using BAX 305, 327, 357, 358 and 375. The linked 2026–28 checklist instead names the following five courses, plus electives and the rest of the BBA.

This is a selected-course crosswalk, not a complete degree plan. The checklist labels itself unofficial and directs students to their IDA, adviser, Course Schedule and catalog. It also describes BAX 375 as spring-only; confirm the actual offering in the current schedule.
The current catalog permits credit for only one of BAX 304, BAX 305 or MIS 304. Three 3-hour listings therefore do not establish nine usable degree hours. Keep the explicit credit condition and your actual plan together rather than adding course numbers from different versions.
Requirements can change at the prerequisite level too. For BAX 358, the current catalog names BAX 304 or MIS 304, Statistics 235 or 235H, and Decision Sciences 235 or 235H, along with upper-division standing. The department overview uses a different list. Follow the applicable current schedule/catalog and ask advising how the rule applies to your record.

Keep Canfield and integrated MPA distinct
Canfield is an honors route with a separate application and curriculum. Being admitted to the BBA does not itself establish honors admission. Texas CSB and ECB are additional combined honors paths described on the Admissions program page, with their own scope.
Integrated MPA is the five-year accounting program whose students complete bachelor’s and master’s degrees. It should not be described as another ordinary three-hour major option or confused with the traditional graduate MPA application.
Compare the actual credential, entry stage, application requirements and plan year. A ranking for a graduate business program does not describe the undergraduate major, and an average for one honors applicant cohort does not establish a BBA admission cutoff.

Build a plan that an adviser can check
- Choose the official degree plan for your major and catalog year, not simply the newest PDF.
- Run your current Interactive Degree Audit and note where completed or transferred credit appears.
- Read prerequisites, restrictions, only-one-counted rules and the actual term’s Course Schedule.
- Identify a backup section and any spring-only or sequence dependency. Bring unresolved equivalencies and plan differences to advising.
- Complete registration and its tuition/attendance step using your own RIS window.
Historical course grades can add a source-dated distribution with its denominator. They cannot tell you that a course is currently offered, fills a requirement, has an open seat or will produce your expected grade.

UT Admissions says McCombs applicants apply as unspecified business and select a specific undergraduate major after enrolling. Honors and other special programs have their own additional application requirements.

Is Canfield a separate admission process?
