  2. Submit the application and have required documents/test scores received by their own deadlines.
  3. Check your MyStatus checklist and the additional requirements for your requested major or honors program.

What the data adds

Application and materials dates are different intervals
The published early-action pair is 7 elapsed calendar days apart; the regular pair is 9 days apart. The regular interval is two days longer, but neither is an extension of its application deadline.Original date subtraction: October 22 minus October 15, and December 10 minus December 1, 2026. Calendar days are not business-day processing promises; required items must arrive by the applicable date. UT Admissions — current freshman definition, dates, materials and testing · checked
A deferral can move the decision boundary by one month
The official January 15 and February 15, 2027 boundaries are 31 elapsed calendar days apart. Early Action therefore does not promise an admit/deny result in January when UT issues a deferral.Original calendar calculation using the two published decision boundaries. Individual decisions can arrive earlier; the interval is not an estimate of review time or a predicted outcome. UT Admissions — decision/deferral timing and automatic-admission scope · checked

First-year · Summer/Fall 2027

As checked October 27, regular application is due December 1, 2026; supplemental materials are due December 10. The October early-action dates have passed.

  1. Use the current official freshman instructions and select the actual entry term.
  2. Complete required testing-agency scores, transcripts, essay/short answers and any major-specific items.
  3. Follow your MyStatus checklist; a submitted application is not a confirmation that every required document arrived.
I already applied Early Action

By January 15, 2027, UT says you receive a decision or a notice of deferral. Deferred and regular applicants receive a decision by February 15, 2027.

  1. Check the actual application and required-document statuses.
  2. Read the decision or deferral in MyStatus; do not infer a result from someone else’s release date.
External transfer from another college

This is a different route from freshman or internal transfer. The current summer/fall page lists March 1 application and March 10 supplemental-material deadlines; confirm the selected entry cycle and school availability on the official page.

  1. Check the transferable-coursework requirement and whether in-progress coursework can count for your term.
  2. Read the requested school’s extra courses or materials; McCombs external transfer is fall entry.
International first-year applicant

Use the international applicant definition and requirements rather than assuming domestic fee, transcript or language rules apply. Its summer/fall page preserves the same December 1/10 regular dates and the CLT testing alternative.

  1. Check the official definition, documents and any English-language requirements.
  2. Use the international-transfer route instead if you began college after secondary-school graduation.
Already enrolled at UT · change major

Use the university and receiving school’s internal-transfer process. Freshman deadlines, an external-transfer requirement and admission to UT do not establish internal-transfer eligibility.

  1. Check your receiving school’s current cycle and degree requirements.
  2. For McCombs, use its actual prerequisite, UT-residence credit and application rules.
Spring 2027 first-year applicant

The listed September 1 application and September 8 materials deadlines have passed as of October 27. The public freshman and review pages disagree on the spring decision date; see the source note below and your MyStatus record.

  1. Use the specific spring application instructions and your account status.
  2. Ask Admissions to resolve the public December 1 versus December 15 decision-date conflict if it affects your planning.

The freshman definition includes a high-school graduate who has not enrolled at another college after graduation. External transfer instead requires the appropriate transferable college work after high school; the current page specifies 24 semester hours and limits the use of in-progress work for spring applicants. Dual-credit work completed during high school does not by itself make a freshman applicant an external transfer.

Graduate programs use their own admissions processes. A graduate ranking, MBA average or transfer cohort does not supply an undergraduate admission cutoff. Use the separate observed acceptance-rate analysis when you need historical counts rather than an application route.

These are the current first-year summer/fall dates. They are not the external-transfer, internal-transfer or spring timeline. Follow the official cycle and your MyStatus instructions if the university updates them.

As of the check date, the next regular application boundary is December 1. Prepare the required items before then rather than treating December 10 as a second application deadline. Processing and receipt are separate states: the official FAQ says transcript timeliness is assessed by receipt date, not completion of its review.

Required testing includes a stated CLT alternative

The current freshman instructions require an official SAT or ACT score sent by the testing agency and explicitly accept an official Classic Learning Test (CLT) score as satisfying that requirement. The current cycle should therefore not be described as test optional. Self-reporting after requesting an official send does not replace agency receipt.

UT’s FAQ says it does not superscore and uses the highest score from one test date. The freshman page does not require SAT Essay, ACT Writing, ACT Science or SAT Subject Tests. Read the current test instructions for the applicable agency, deadline and score treatment.

Use the official checklist for transcripts, essay and short answers, coursework prerequisites and any extra school-specific items. Art/design portfolios, calculus readiness and honors materials can have distinct requirements. An admissions testing requirement, a placement test after admission and a claimed credit are different records.

Automatic university admission does not choose the requested major

The current review page identifies top 5% for eligible Texas high-school Summer/Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 applicants. Read the university’s full eligibility conditions and application requirements; that percentage alone is not a complete eligibility check, and the page states separate provisions for eligible nontraditional secondary education.

University admission and selection for a requested major are separate decisions. McCombs applicants apply as unspecified business, then select a specific undergraduate major after enrollment; honors admission has additional requirements. A university-wide rate or a score from one applicant cannot establish admission to Finance, Engineering or an honors program.

For the BBA, read the program and degree-plan comparison. Current UT students should use the internal-transfer guide and its current school-specific requirements.

Use MyStatus to resolve missing items and receipt dates

Open the official MyStatus entry page for the secure undergraduate portal. It provides the application to-do list, document status and university communications after an application has been submitted. Do not enter an EID or upload personal documents into an independent guide.

The public processing guidance says documents can take up to ten business days to appear, and longer around deadlines. Documents are marked by receipt date, not processing date. Keep the university’s actual status and instructions rather than interpreting a slow review as a rejection or submitting duplicate materials without checking.

A spring decision-date conflict remains visible

This conflict concerns the public spring decision timetable. It does not change the aligned Summer/Fall 2027 January 15 decision-or-deferral and February 15 regular/deferred boundaries. Keep the term and population attached to every date.

Questions answered

Which UT application pathway should I use?

Choose by applicant type and entry term. A student who has not enrolled at another college after high-school graduation generally starts with freshman instructions; external transfer, international and current-UT internal transfer use their own requirements. Check the official definition before applying.

When are the Summer/Fall 2027 first-year application and documents due?

The regular application deadline is December 1, 2026, and supplemental materials are due December 10. Early Action used October 15 and October 22, which had passed by this guide’s October 27 check. These are different application and receipt deadlines.

What does an Early Action deferral mean?

UT says Early Action applicants receive a decision or deferral by January 15, 2027. Deferred applicants continue review with a decision by February 15, alongside the regular-deadline timeline. A deferral does not establish a later admit or denial.

Is UT test optional, and does it superscore?

The current freshman page requires official testing-agency SAT or ACT scores and accepts official CLT scores as an alternative. It is not test optional. The official FAQ says UT does not superscore and uses the highest score from one test date.

Does automatic admission guarantee McCombs or another requested major?

No. Check all university automatic-admission conditions for the entry cycle; selection for the requested school or major and honors requirements remain separate. McCombs applicants enter as unspecified business and choose a specific undergraduate major after enrollment.

Where do I check incomplete materials?

Use the official MyStatus portal after applying. It shows your to-do list and document status. Receipt and processing dates are different: materials can take time to appear, and the university assesses timeliness using receipt rather than completed review.
