Is a RecSports membership included?

Yes. Student access includes entry to all seven facilities, equipment checkout and court reservations up to seven days ahead. Scan your physical UT ID or the My RecSports QR code at entry.

University Extension courses don’t qualify for student access. You don’t need to buy a semester membership while your student access is active. Fall access is August 21 through January 10; spring access is January 11 through June 2.

Where can I work out?

The facility list includes Gregory Gym, Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex, Recreational Sports Center, Bellmont Hall, Caven–Clark Field and Courts, Whitaker Courts, and Wright–Whitaker Sports Complex.

Gregory and the Recreational Sports Center are the main indoor gyms for weights, cardio and courts. The Aquatic Complex has pools; the field and court sites serve outdoor activities. Check the facility page rather than assuming every activity is available everywhere.

What should I check before walking over?

Open RecSports facility hours on the day you plan to go. Hours change for university holidays, breaks, events and maintenance.

Bring your UT ID or load the My RecSports QR code before arriving. Court reservations are useful for tennis, pickleball, handball, racquetball, squash and wallyball; open recreation space can still depend on the daily schedule.

What isn’t included?

RecSports lists Adventure Trips, the Climbing Wall, intramurals, lockers, outdoor equipment, personal training, sport clubs, swimming lessons, tennis lessons, TeXercise and towel service as programs students may buy or register for.

No-cost facility entry doesn’t mean every class, league or rental is free. Open the program’s own page and check its current charge before signing up.

Do I need to buy summer access?

Summer 2026 student access ran June 4 through August 20. Students not enrolled in summer may buy a Student Summer Membership; UT hasn’t published the summer 2027 dates or price on this page yet.

Use the included access during your enrolled terms. If you won’t enroll next summer, wait for the 2027 dates and price before deciding whether a summer membership is worth buying.

How we got this

Facility access, term dates and included benefits come from UT RecSports; summer 2027 details are identified as not yet published. Checked October 28, 2026. This is an independent undergraduate guide, not a decision on your own eligibility.
