How do UT students get football tickets?
The 2026 Big Ticket with Football sale closed October 25. If you already bought it, you can claim tickets for the remaining home games during the weekly student claim window while tickets remain.

Can I still buy football access?
The 2026 purchase deadline was October 25 at 11:59 p.m. Central. Texas Athletics’ current purchase button offers the Big Ticket without football; that version doesn’t let you claim football tickets.
The $140 Longhorn Foundation student add-on is also sold out for 2026. It isn’t an option for buying access now.
How do existing holders claim a ticket?
Texas Athletics opens regular claims Wednesday at 6 p.m. Central before a home game. Existing Longhorn Foundation student members get Tuesday access at 6 p.m. Claim while student tickets remain, then download the mobile ticket to your phone’s wallet.
A successful claim guarantees entry for that game. The general-admission student section is first come, first served, so the ticket doesn’t reserve a particular seat. On an iPhone, use the device linked to your ticket account: Texas Athletics binds the account to the Apple device used for the first download.
What do I need at the gate?
For standard entry, bring the mobile ticket and your physical UT student ID to ShopBack Gate, formerly Gate 25. The gate opens three hours before kickoff; a mobile student ID doesn’t replace the physical card.
Texas Athletics also offers optional Touchless Entry through that page. Students who enroll can use its designated lane without presenting the physical ID. After entry, put on the wristband immediately and keep it on for the student section.
Student football tickets can’t be transferred or resold. Use your own ticket and identity.
What if I can’t use a claimed ticket?
Return the ticket in your Texas Athletics account more than three hours before kickoff to avoid a no-show penalty. Otherwise, scan it at ShopBack Gate by halftime.
Two unused claimed tickets in one season revoke football claim access for the remaining home games without a refund. Included non-football events remain available.
Is the Big Ticket worth $250 for next season?
The 2026 package cost $250 and covered access to more than 100 regular-season home events. Oklahoma tickets cost extra, and away or postseason tickets weren’t included. Those are this season’s terms; this page doesn’t publish next season’s price or rules.
For next season, wait for the new offer and compare it with the home events you’ll attend. Buy only if the package fits that plan and you can use its claim system.
